Abstrakt wykładu (w języku angielskim):

Dr. Carretero-Pinzón will describe her >15 years of work studying population dynamics, behavior and conservation status of 5 species of neotropical primates in the Colombian Llanos. She will share some of her insights into the factors that most contribute to the survival of monkeys in areas under heavy anthropogenic pressure, such as the presence of living fences. She stresses the importance of building understanding and cooperation with people living in primate-rich areas.

Dr. Carretero-Pinzón is a biologist with a master in Biological Sciences from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia and a doctorate in landscape ecology from The University of Queenland, Brisbane, Australia. She has more than 25 years of experience working with primate ecology and behavior in Orinoquia and Amazon areas, and over 15 years of experience working in a fragmented landscape in Colombia. This includes experience working with indigenous and peasant communities on conservation topics as well as facilitating conservation workshops in Spanish and English.
